Who We Support

We support 134 children from vulnerable socioeconomic backgrounds.  This includes 54 children living with HIV and 80 children who have lost their parents to AIDS.

About HIV/AIDS

What is HIV?

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that weakens the immune system, making it harder for the body to fight infections and diseases.

What is AIDS?

Without treatment, HIV can progress to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), a stage where the immune system is significantly weakened.

Treatment

While there is no cure for HIV, proper medical care can effectively manage the virus.

Living with HIV

With treatment, people with HIV can lead long, healthy lives and greatly reduce the risk of transmission.

Clarifying Common Misconceptions

HIV does not spread through casual contact.

HIV is not transmitted through touching, sharing food, or hugging.

Anyone can contract HIV.

HIV can affect anyone, regardless of age or gender.
